Replacing fence line, grading
24 April 2009
page one of three

The removal of invasive Brazilian Pepper Trees along the canals is also the occasion to remove the old fence line and replace it with new posts and barbed wire. The job requires a lot of hard work not made any easier by the heat and dust.

RIGHT: Sean Sexton unrolls barbed wire.

BELOW: Ben Harrison and Daniel Brohman dig fence post holes.

LEFT: Sean attaches the wire to the post.

BELOW: A view of the ground to be covered.

Rubbish left over from the tree removal is bulldozed into the pile of trees to be burned in a few weeks when they dry out.
The intended route of the new fence line is graded. A view of the canal that rings the pastures.
