Cattlemen congregate in the lobby prior to the 8:30 a.m. meeting of the Florida Cattlemen's Association Legislative Quarterly Meeting at the hotel in Tallahassee on 11 March 2009. The Cattlemen will eventually divide up into groups that will spend a good part of the day lobbying for their industry by meeting personally with all the Florida State Senators and Representatives or their staff at their Capitol offices.
The Cattlemen are briefed at the meeting on the Florida Cattlemen's Association's positions on various bills coming up in the Florida Legislature. Briefed and ready to go, the Cattlemen are shuttled to the Capitol building courtesy of the Florida Department of Agriculture.
Sean Sexton and former FCA president Tommy Clay outside the Capitol building. The slow moving line at the doors is making its way through the security checkpoint just inside the building.

ABOVE RIGHT: Tommy Clay, Representative James Bush III (D-District 109), and Sean Sexton.

LEFT: Eating lunch in the cafeteria located in the basement of the Capitol. Surprisingly, the food was well above average.

Meeting with a Representative or a Senator---or, more likely, their aide----entails a lot of waiting; Tommy Clay settles in to pass the time.
