Most young calves collected during the roundup are allowed to pass through the chutes to return to the herd without delay. Calves passing through without ear tags, mostly very young calves, are stopped for tagging. BELOW: Mike Sexton ropes, tags and releases a young Brahman calf. |

A disturbing discovery was finding a newly born calf that had been born with undeveloped eyes making it blind. The blind calf was given a ride in the Mule to rejoin its mother in the pasture. | ![]() |
