ABOVE: A cow-eye view of the launch of space shuttle Endeavour on mission STS-126 as observed from out in the pastures of Treasure Hammock Ranch. Endeavour lifted off at 7:55 p.m. on 14 November 2008 from Kennedy Space Center on a construction, resupply and crew transfer mission to the International Space Station. |

ABOVE: This image is a composite of two images of the launch showing the full trajectory track from liftoff till the shuttle disappeared below the horizon. The exposure had to be split in half so the bright, almost full Moon did not completely wash the image out. Note the wavy line at right center, this is the smoke trail from the jettisoned solid rocket boosters as they fall down toward the Atlantic Ocean. |
